Chitalang village is located to the south west of Kathmandu in mid-hills called Mahabharat range. An ancient Newari settlement, it is one of the forty three VDCs of Makawanpur district. The main ethnic populations are Newar, Tamang, Khas etc. Chitlang has a rich Newari culture. 12 years Dance, Bhairav and Mahadev Jatra, Khadga Jatra and Godavari Mela are popular events of Chitlang. Geographical diversity, flora and fauna are the main features of the villages. The village itself will be a unique destination for the nature and culture lovers.
The People of the Chitlang Village are hospitable. The formation of society is a mixture of different castes and ethnic groups. The people of the community are very frank in nature, they are eager to share their nature, they are eager to share their knowledge with the guest and dine together without any hesitation. The climate of the village is ideal to visit at any time during the time with warm days and cool nights. During the stay you will be able to feel what it is like to live the life of a Nepali villager. Walk with your family while they go about their daily chores, tending animals, tilling the fields, going to school with the children, or just sitting in the sun talking with neighbors. Finally, at the end of your stay, you will be overwhelmed by the farewell that your new family will offer you. If you never come this way again the village and its people will remain in your heart forever.
Day 01: Drive to Chitlang
After breakfast, we depart Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Chitlang, warm welcome by Chitlang Community Home Stay in traditional way. The drive from Kathmandu is around 2hr depending upon the road condition. After refreshment, have lunch. Later in the afternoon half day tour of Chitlang that includes Traut Fish farm, old high school, goat cheese factory, 7 stone taps and Ashoka Stupa. Culture program in the evening will be held and served delicious Nepali cuisine.
Day 02: Excursion around Chitlang
After Breakfast, tour of Swachhanda Bhairav Temple, Taleju Temple and after lunch, return back to Chitlang Home Stay. This day we will discover the local lives of the village with mesmerizing views of hills. At the evening cultural program will be held and served rare Nepalese cuisine.
Day 03: Excursion around Chitlang
After Breakfast visit Bhaleswor Mahadev, it is about 2 to 3 hrs hike up the hill from where one can see the fantastic views of Himalayas. We will back to Home Stay at Evening and served dinner.
Day 04: Drive back to Kathmandu
After three days Home Stay program, it’s time to say goodbye for villagers. Farewell program will be done by villagers in traditional ways and will take a few pictures of the host family. We drive back to Kathmandu.
