Tamakoshi is one of the wildest rivers in Nepal. The Tama Koshi is a powerful river with a volume twice of the Bhote Koshi. The river rises in Tibet and drains a lot of high Himalayan Peaks and glaciers. The river is graded as 4 to 6 and starts from Tserolpa Lake and Gaurishankar Glacier. It flows 75km before it reaches the road at Busti. The Rafting usually starts from a place called Busti (a bridge on the way to Jiri). The rafting spot is easily accessible from Kathmandu away from the main trekking route. The start point is around 95 km east from Kathmandu. The river is too wild for commercial run as some of the rapids are almost impossible to pass because of higher current and instable rapids. The river rafting trip in the Tama Koshi is listed as one of the classic runs made in the white waters of Nepal. Tama Kosi is more famous among the Kayak lovers.
