Annapurna Circuit Trek

The most popular of the trekking routes, Annapurna Circuit with its outstanding scenery is considered one of the best trekking routes in the world. Due to the geography, the Circuit one can experience the climate and cultural diversity available in Nepal; from lush sub-tropical lowlands of the Indian sub-continent to the cold high altitude deserts of the Tibetan plateau. The circuit usually takes about 22 days (3 weeks) to complete the 160-230 km distance. Annapurna circuit Trek opened to foreigners trekkers in 1977 and has been witnessed as a highly demanded and spectacular trekking route in this region.

Kaligandaki is the world’s deepest gorge,. Flanked by the two Himal’s named Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. The geographical structure is mind blowing and trekkers will see the dramatic changes in different elevations during the treks. Annapurna circuit trek is made amazing by the most beautiful scenic view of mountains, diverse cultures, local settlements of several ethnic communities such as Thakali, Manangi, Gurung and finally with a gorge of Kaligandaki and Thorng La Pass.

From its starting point, the town of Besi Sahar, the trek goes counter-clockwise of the Pokhara-Kathmandu highway to NayaPool to Thorong La pass (at 5,416 m, the highest point of the trek) and down to Muktinath and Kagbeni, then it’s on to Jomsom, Tatopani and Poon Hill. The circuit ends when you reach Naya Pul. This is a strenuous trek so it is advisable to be prepared both mentally and physically.

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu
    After landing in International Airport our representative will greet you and took to your booked hotel. Relaxing for few hours our Local guide will take you for short walk around Old Town and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Evening you will be invited for Welcome Dinner at our own Hotel. Overnight Sleep at hotel.
  • Day 2 : Kathmandu Excursion
    After having breakfast at Hotel start to visit Kathmandu valley, this day you will be taken to Swayambhunath(monkey temple), and Boudhanath with our local guide. Afternoon meeting with trekking guide, check the trekking gears. Overnight sleep at Hotel.
  • Day 3 : Drive to Besisahar by Bus-8hrs
    Early in the morning our journey begins by bus to Besisahar. During the road trip we see more of countryside of Nepal that offers greeneries, rivers, villages, farms and beautiful mountain scenic views.Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 4 : Trek from Besisahar to Bahundanda(1,300m)
    Upon our breakfast our journey starts from Besisahar, to Bahnudanda climbing up via Khudi. Our upcoming route continuously traverses us through rice, potato and barley fields including stunning views of Hmalchuli and Nagdi Chuli. This night we stop at Bahundanda. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 5 : Trek from Bahundanda to Chyamje(1,410m)
    Today passing by Syange we cross the Marsyangadi River on a suspension bridge, we follow the local stone village named Jagat but before climbing it through the forest to Chyamje. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 6 : Trek from Chyamje to Bagarchaap(2,160m)
    Today day begins with the rocky route following Marsyangdi Rivers steadily uphill to Tal, a 1st village in Manang District. Trail goes up and down and crossing wide valley until we reach Dharapani. We should keep watching mesmerizing view of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna along the way. Tibetan influenced village appears gradually and have to stop at Baggarchap. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 7 : Trek from Bagarchap to Chame(2,630m)
    Today the trails lead us to Tyanja, then continuing through forest near to river Kopar. After reaching Chame, the headquarters of the Manang District, studnnig glimps of Annapurna II and Annapurna IV appears. Practice of Tibetan culture can be seen easily along the way. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 8 : Trek from Chame to Pisang(3,190m)
    Today day begins with narrow path through a deep forest and soon will bring us to the dramatic curved rock face rising from the river. As the route opens up we get surrounded by Himalayan Peaks. This day trek goes on until we climb up to Pisang. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 9 : Trek from Pisang to Manang(3,540m)
    Today, we will go through the drier upper part of the Manang District. During the way we recommend climbing from northern route via Geru. This day we will encounter with full of outstanding sceneries. We feel like we are horizontally in front of the majestic peaks. We experience a real adventure along the way playing with cold and dry climate. Short visit to the largest Monastery of Manang District named Barge Monastery we move heading for rest in the guesthouse. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 10 : Day10: Acclimatization at Manang
    Today is a rest and exploration day around Manang to capture the magnificent sights around the village including Bhojo Gompa and Ganapurna Lake. Upcoming next two days will be very challenging and tiring so we suggest all of our trekkers it’s better to acclimatized for a night here in Mustang. We also visit at the Himalayan Rescue Association from where we get some ideas about Mountain Sickness. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 11 : Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka(4,250m)
    Today trek continues from Manang, crossing a streams, climbs to a village of Tenki above Manang and the continues and leaving the Marshyangdi calley. Further trail passes near the village Ghunsa, a cluster of flat mud roofs just below the trail-head. Passing the Jarsang Khola Valley, we setp at Yak Kharka. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 12 : Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorng Phedi(4,420m)
    Today, we follow our trail until we reach Thorng Phedi by crossing river. Trek of 3-4 hrs will head to Thorng Phedi. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 13 : Trek from Thorng Phedi to Mukti Nath(3,800m) via Thorng La Pass
    Today is a long and climax of Annapurna Circuit Trek. An early start is important to complete the trek because of strong winds which may affect the journey, particularly at the Thorng La Pass. Each moment we have to work hard today through the icy-high altitude trail. But amazing high Himalayan scenic beauty is such tempting that our eyes love to watch more over the horizon than on our trail. After continuing our trail we will be at Muktinath. Muktinath means place of Nirvana and is home to the Muktinath temple as well as several monasteries. Muktinath is an important pilgrimage spot for both Hindus and Buddhist. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and has 108 waterspouts around it. Stay overnight at guesthouse.
  • Day 14 : Trek from Muktinath to Marpha(2650m)
    Today, our trail continues through the Kali Gandaki Valley to Marpha, home to the legendary apple orchids. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 15 : Trek from Marpha to Ghasa(2,010m)
    Today, our trail goes through the bank of Kali Gandaki valley. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 16 : Trek from Ghasa to Tatopani(1,190 m)
    Today we pass through the world’s deepest gorge and continue through the Kali Gandaki River to Tatopani. This place is famous for its hot springs. This is the best day to give relax for body after log day’s trek. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 17 : Trek from Tatopani to Ghorepani(2,810m)
    Today, we gradually walk steep up to ascent Ghorepani. We passes several villages of Magar and Gurungs on the way of trail. Passing through the Phalate and Chitre, we walk through a non-habitat area, through rhododendron, birch, magnolia and some meadows as well. As we reach the height, the peaks ahead look wonderful. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 18 : Trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill(3,210m) to Tikhedunga(1,570m)
    Early in the morning we hike up to Poon Hill at height of 3210m. From the height of Poon Hill amazing views of Himalaya can be explored. After spending 1 hours then return to Ghorepani and move for Tikhedunga through the Rhododendron forest. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 19 : Trek from Tikhedunga to Nayapul(1,010m) and drive to Pokhara
    After easy trekking we reach Nayapul. Then after an hour drive, we reach Pokhara. Pokhara, a peaceful city of lakes with the dramatic backdrop of the Himalayas is worth spending a night for rest and relaxation after a long trek. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
  • Day 20 : Excursion at Pokhara
    Whole day we get closer of Pokhara city for exploration. Early in the morning driving towards Sangkot to view the sunrise in Himalaya, BindaBasini Temple, and World Peace Stupa after lunch free to walk around Lake Side. Overnight stay at Hotel.
  • Day 21 : Drive back to Kathmandu
    Drive back to Kathmandu by Private Vehicle – about 5 hours scenic drive. Overnight stay at Hotel.
  • Day 22 : Final Departure
    Our representative you will drop you at International airport for your next flight according to your schedule.
