Bhairav Kunda Trek
Bhairav Kunda is one of the sacred pilgrimage for Hindu and Buddhists. Huge Fest is held in the Kunda, a bathing festival during the Janai Purnima festival. The Janai Purnima is a festival of changing the sacred thread called Janai. Pilgrims dip bath in the pond, offer Puja to ancestors and then change the thread. It lies at the altitude of 3985 m from the sea level, in the range of mountains. Janai Purnima, an August festival is the prime time to visit the place. The view is panoramic, the nature’s beauty there is mesmerizing and it is the home to numerous medicinal and rare herbs and shrubs. Rocks, barren lands, cliffs and meadows, pasture lands, mountain cows, yak, sheep all sums to the aura. Lakpa, Dorjee, Gaurishankhar, Ganesh, Jugals mountains and some escapes of China can be seen close up during the trek.
