Chulu West Peak is being favored by climbers from all over the world each year. The height of Chulu West Peak is 6419 m. It is also considered one of the world beautiful peaks in the Annapurna region. The Chulu West peak offers interesting opportunity for those looking for an adventure in Annapurna Region. Chulu west peak climbing offer beautiful Himalayan views of Annapurna region, including climbing Chulu West Peak, Annapurna Thorung La pass / Annapurna circuit trekking trail, lush valleys with beautiful landscape. Chulu west peak can be seen from the major trail of Annapurna circuit trekking trail. It was first ascended in 1952 by a Japanese Expedition by and are also a part of Chulu massif but are not indicated in the map. Thus, it is difficult to differentiate between the two Chulus. However, the Chulu group comprises four peaks. The base camp of this peak is situated in a small valley north of Manang, off the main trail to the Thorang La. There is a controversy regarding the name and location of the Chulu Peaks, there are several peaks close wo in the west, Chulu west may also be called an Chulu Central.

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival at Kathmandu
    Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the representatives of Seto Himal Excursion welcome you and take you to the hotel which is already booked for your stay. The hotel staffs will be engaged for your accommodation after completing check in. In the evening, we organize a welcome dinner in the hotel with our team.
  • Day 2 : Kathmandu sightseeing and preparation for trekking
    This day is a special tour day in Kathmandu city in a car. You will have a guided tour to the famous cultural and historical sites of Kathmandu. Among them, the UNESCO enlisted world heritage sites are the primary places to visit. Pashupatinath (sacred Hindu temple), Bauddhanath (Buddhist Shrine), Swayambhunath (Monkey temple), Bhaktapur Durbar Squire, Patan Durbar Squire, Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Squire, Dharahara (Bhimsen Tower), Tundikhel, Dasaratha Stadium and many other en-route. You can experience the night life of Kathmandu till 9 o’clock and overnight stay at hotel. There will be pre- trip discussion with your mountain climbing Sherpa guides for well prepared of the trek. They will give brief information and highlights of Chulu West Peak climbing.
  • Day 3 : Drive to Besisahar
    On this day, we drive to Besisahar enjoying picturesque views of mountains, rivers and natural vegetation. The road leads to Besisahar through Dumre Bazaar. You can experience the natural beauty of hilly region with fine greenery and scattered settlements. Trail is full of magnificent views of green hills, terraced fields, and streams. You can explore surrounding area of Besisahar and we stay in a guest house.
  • Day 4 : Trek to Bahundanda(1310m)
    On this day, we begin our trek to Bahundanda. On the way, you cross some settlements and valleys with terraced fields which are fine opportunities to explore because these settlements are full of unique cultures. This day trek is pleasant walk to reach Bahundanda. In the evening, you can explore the village where we stay in a guest house for the night.
  • Day 5 : Trek Chamje Trek (1430m.)
    On this day, trekking continues to Chamje passing through the valley and terraced fields. The trail goes through Marsyangdi River bank and crosses on its east bank at Chamje providing views of mountains and natural beauty. In the evening you can wander around the village to explore. We stay overnight in a guest house there.
  • Day 6 : Trek to Dharapani Trek (1860m.)
    This day trekking continues to Dharapani village. We walk through terraced fields and forests enjoying beautiful views of mountains and green hills. Trekking is pleasantly walking, ascending to the elevation and sometimes walking downwards to cross streams. The trek provides the opportunities to explore the villages along the trail. We stay in a guest house in Dharapani
  • Day 7 : Trek to Chame (2670m.)
    This day trek continues along the left bank of the river passing some settlements in high altitudes. Along the trek, enjoy the panoramic views of the Manaslu massif including hundreds of other peaks. The trail continues through the Manang Valley and through small villages. We reach Chame, the district headquarter of Manang district with a police check-post. We stay overnight in a guest house.
  • Day 8 : Trek to Pisang (3300m.)
    On this day, we walk through the forests of pine. We walk passing across Taleku and Bhratang villages. These Buddhist predominant villages have chortens in entrance and exit. You can see astonishing views of Annapurna II to the south while you are walking to Pisang village. We stay overnight in a lodge in Pisang.
  • Day 9 : Trek to Ngawal Village (3657m.)
    On this day, we trek to Ngawal Village from Pisang village. The trail offers astonishing views of lofty mountains and landscape. Walking ascending and sometimes in slopes through the valley, we reach Ngawal valley and explore the village. The village is rich in its unique culture which is unmarked by the modernization. We stay in a guest house there.
  • Day 10 : Acclimatization Day
    It is our rest day in Ngawal village. You can go for hiking around the region. You are free to explore the landscape and settlements and enjoy the views of giant mountains. Acclimatization helps you to adjust with the body and environment while the air becomes thinner in high altitude. We stay overnight in the same place of previous day.
  • Day 11 : Trek to Chulu West Base camp Trek (3910m.)
    On this day, our trek continues to Base Camp of Chulu West. On the trail, you can enjoy the gigantic views of mountains and landscape. The trek is wonderful experience with the unlimited views of snow-peaks and glaciers. We stay overnight in a tent in Chulu West Base Camp area.
  • Day 12 : Trek to Chulu West High Camp (5000m.)
    We trek to Chulu West High camp from the base camp. We set camp there and make necessary preparations for the summiting the peak. You will be given short informative training by the guides of the Chulu West Peak climbing. You can explore the surrounding area in leisure time. We stay overnight in a camp.
  • Day 13 : Summiting Chulu West Peak (6419m.) & return back to High Camp.
    It is our summit access day to Chulu West Peak. We reach the top of the peak and enjoy the views of mountains and peaks around there including Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Gangapurna, Tilicho Himal, Glacier Dome etc. The excitement of successful summit and panoramic views of the mountains give you unpredictable experience in life. In the afternoon, you will return back to Base Camp and overnight stay there.
  • Day 14 : Trek from Chulu Peak Base Camp to Manang (3560m.)
    On this day, we retrieve back to Manang Valley from Chulu West Base Camp. It is a short trek so you can have enough time to explore the village. You can enjoy impressive views of mountains from the village and experience the hospitality of the people in this area. We stay overnight in a guest house in Manang.
  • Day 15 : Trek to Letder (4200m.)
    This day trek continues through Yak Kharka to Letder. You can experience the hill side culture and hospitality of the local people. Enjoy the pleasant views of natural sceneries and landscapes while trekking along the way. The green hills and mountains are very impressive while trekking to Letder. Spend the remaining time exploring the village before we stay overnight in a guest house.
  • Day 16 : Trek to Throng Phedi (4550m.)
    On this day, we trek to Throng Phedi which is a short trek of about 4 hours. The trekking is simply a walk through some terraced fields and meadows. It is the base camp for Throng La Pass climb therefore busy with climbers and trekkers. The views of mountains from Phedi are very impressive and spellbinding. We stay overnight in a lodge at Throng Phedi.
  • Day 17 : Trek to Muktinath (3800m.)
    On this day, the trekking trail descends down to Muktinath from Throng Phedi. The area is quite busy because of the crowded by the tourists. We walk through the Valley of Kali Gandaki River with climbing ups and down. The views of mountains including Dhaulagiri massif and other mountains are astonishing while walking. Muktinath area is religious site for Hindus and Buddhists. We stay in a lodge in Muktinath region.
  • Day 18 : Trek to Jomsom (2670m.)
    On this day, we trek to Jomsom from Muktinath along the gorge of kali Gandaki River. We pass through Jharkot and Khingar villages and reach to Kagbeni village. You can explore the village which are traditional and have untouched culture. The views of Nilgiri Himal and Tilicho Peak from Jomsom are astonishing. We stay overnight in a hotel in Jomsom.
  • Day 19 : Fly to Pokhara
    On this day, you will fly to Pokhara from Jomsom in the morning in a short scenic flight of about 2o minutes. The flight itself is exciting between the two ranges of mountains. You will have sightseeing tour in Pokhara city in the afternoon. You can experience paragliding adventure in Sarangkot or explore the city. We stay overnight in a hotel.
  • Day 20 : Drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara
    On this day, we drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. It is about 6 hours drive along Prithivi Highway. You will be transferred to the hotel where either you have leisurely rest or wander around the market. In the evening, there will be celebration dinner in the hotel with the team of Seto Himal Excursion.
  • Day 21 : Rest in Kathmandu
    It is a rest day in Kathmandu after an adventure-climb of Lobuche East Peak Climbing Adventure. Hiking to any of the surrounding areas in valley rim can be the best. Nagarkot view tour or Champadevi Trekking or Dakshinkali Mandir Darshan can be your choice according to your strength and interest. In the afternoon, you explore the city for shopping in the market and stay overnight in a hotel.
  • Day 22 : Farewell Day
    On the last day, we bid goodbye to the guest as visit in Nepal comes to the end for this time. If you have time enough, you can have sightseeing and purchasing the token of love from Nepal. Before 3 hours of scheduled flight, you will be driven to the TIA by our company representatives. On your way home, we hope you make plan for another adventure trip in Nepal with us.
