The peak situated in the Dhaulagiri range ‘Dhampus’ is become one of the popular peak in the area. It is also the only location from where the observer can get a clear view of the massive altitude differences between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Dhampus peal is also known as “Thapa Peak”.You can also see Tukuche and Dhaulagiri peaks for an extremely close range. Around thirty different peaks can be seen from the top of the peak making it an incomparable vintage point to have a clear view of mountain panorama.

Climbing Dhampus peak doesn’t require any technical support but you need to be acclimatized to the altitude before making an ascend. A short trek to Thorang Pass (5416 m) is advised to help you be acclimatized. It takes around one and a half week to climb Dhampus. It is a easiest way to experience mountaineering as it is not very technical and the climbing route are easily accessible and friendly. Even though the climb is easy good physical health and mental perseverance is necessary. The outlined itinerary for this trip is usually 19 days but it can be changed according to customer’s preference.

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu
    Our company representative will greet you at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. When you have had your time to settle in and freshen up after your long flight. After some refreshment you will invited for a visit to our office. At evening we will offer you for a welcome dinner at our own Restaurant.
  • Day 2 : Full day Excursion in Kathmandu
    This day will be a busy day with sightseeing, which includes the old famous heritage sites listed in UNESCO such as Swoyambhunath Temple, Baudhantah Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the late afternoon, briefing about the peak climbing Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 3 : Drive/Fly to Pokhara
    Early in the morning our guide will come to pick up you and transfer to the tourist bus station for your day drive to Pokhara. After transfer to hotel in Pokhara you will be guided by our guide for short walk around Pokhara City and lake side. Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 4 : Pokhara to Tikhedhunga (1570m
    Today early in the morning after breakfast we drive for 2hrs, the journey continues along with the great scenery passing through several villages all the way to Nayapul. Our adventurous trek begins from Nayapul through the warm sub tropical region. Our trail continues passing Modi River and follow the east bank of Bhurungdi Khola with scenery of waterfall, high green forest and finally at Tikhedhunga. Overnight at Tea House.
  • Day 5 : Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2785m) 5-6hrs
    After breakfast, today the trail steeply ascends on the long steps to Ulleri Village with the scenery of terrace landscape and Annapurna valley. After reaching at Ulleri village, from here the path is gradual on the winding trail through cool shade of pine and Rohodendron forest, the trail continues with ups and downs to the Ghorepani. From Ghorepani we will able to see the real beauty of massive Annapurna. Overnight at Teahouse.
  • Day 6 : Ghorepani to Tatopani (2660m) 4-5hrs
    After hiking up for an hour in the early morning we reach at Poon hill. From Poon hill we will see good sunrise on the mountain including views of Dolpo, Mt Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Mt machhapuchre and Manaslu. After short watch of panoramic view from Poon hill we will back to the tea house and time to have breakfast. After breakfast the trail pass through the Rohodendron, Pine and Bamboo forest and at Tadapani. Overnight at Teahouse.
  • Day 7 : Trek from Tatopani to Ghasa (2000m)
    From Tatopani we follow the road all the way up to Ghasa. We walk along the Kaligandaki Riverside, slowly ascending with forest. After crossing suspension bridge we reach to Ghasa. Overnight at Ghasa.
  • Day 8 : Trek from Ghasa to Tukuche
    Today, we star trek along the narrow ravine of Kaligandaki River and pass the Khobang village of traditional Thakalis. Overnight at Tukuche.
  • Day 9 : Today first camp of Dhampus peak (4000m)
    This day we trek to the first camp of Dhampus Peak. During the trek we explore some of the amazing view of mountains and landscapes. Overnight in first base of Dhampus Peak.
  • Day 10 : Trek to second camp (4900m)
    Trek to Second Camp. Overnight in camp.
  • Day 11 : Trek to highest camp (5200m)
    Trek to high camp. Overnight in High camp.
  • Day 12 : At the top of peak Summit day (6012m)
    Trek to the peak and descend to high camp. Overnight in High Camp.
  • Day 13 : Trek down to second camp
    Trek down to second camp. Overnight in second camp.
  • Day 14 : Trek down to Tukuche
    Trek down to Tukuche.
  • Day 15 : Trek from Tukuche to Jomsom
    Today,we trek for Jomsom wiewing the impressive white snow capped mountains. We stay for a hour in Kagbeni and trek again until we reach Jomsom. Stay overnight at tented camp
  • Day 16 : Morning flight to Pokhara
    We take flight in the morning time and it takes us to reach Pokhara in 30 minutes. After landing at Pokhara airport we drive back to hotel. After rest for hour our guide will take you for sightseeing around Pokhara which include, Devi’s fall, Fewa Lake, Tibetan Refugee settlement. Stay overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 17 : Exploration day at Pokhara
    Whole day we get closer of Pokhara city for exploration. Early in the morning driving towards Sangkot to view the sunrise in Himalaya, BindaBasini Temple, and World Peace Stupa after lunch free to walk around Lake Side. Stay Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 18 : Drive/Fly back to Kathmandu
    After having breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu which takes 6hrs. If you were bound by time we suggest for a flight which takes 45 min. This day one can spend freely without any pre schedule. You have enough time to explore the local market, shopping Malls and you can buy souvenirs for friends and family. At evening our representative will pick up you from the hotel for fare well dinner in authentic Nepali restaurant, where we share our knowledge, experiences about the trips. Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 19 : Drop you back at Airport for your next destination.
    Today, according to your flight schedule our representative will be at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu (TIA) for see off.
