Everest three passes trek lies in the most popular trekking region of Khumbu, Nepal and for good reason; it offers some of the most spectacular scenery in the country and hence has become one of the most sought after adventure trips in the world. There are several ways to start this trip of a lifetime. The most common way is by flying to Lukla airport (2800m) and then trekking to Everest Base Camp including three passes and then back to Lukla and flying out to Kathmandu. The Everest Base Camp Trek with three high passes is designed for adventure trekkers. This trek takes you through the most popular villages of the Khumbu region, but includes three challenging high passes on route to the base camp of the world’s highest mountain Mt. Everest (8,848m/29,021ft). The trek also lets you encounter the friendliness local Sherpa people who call this wonderland their home. They have a rich culture and interesting traditions that must be experienced.

The highlights of 3 high passes trek are the three major passes which provide spectacular scenery and offer big challenges to even the most experienced trekkers. The KongmaLa pass is the highest pass among them, which was founded by professional Sherpas. This pass allows you to cross the glacier and steep climb p to the top of the pass and steep down to Chukung valley. The Cho La pass is an icy pass offering unbelievably spectacular views of the Himalayan range. The Renjo La pass was recently developed by experienced Sherpas which runs through the Bhote Koshi valley to the Gokyo valley via the high pass of Renjo La. Hike to Kalapathar (5545m) (literally meaning Black Rock); which offers some of the most dramatic views of Mt. Everest, Pumari, Nuptse, and many more along with incredible peaks of entire Khumbu region. Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival at Kathmandu
    Our representative will greet you in International Airport and drive to booked hotel. After freshen up, you will be guided to our corporate office for further procedure. If time allows us, we will guide around ancient market and Kathmandu Durbar Square. At the evening we will invite you’re for welcome dinner in our Restaurants. Overnight at sleep Hotel.
  • Day 2 : Sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley
    This day will be busy day with sightseeing, which includes the old famous heritage sites listed in UNESCO such as Swoyambhunath Temple, Baudhantah Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Late evening we will arrange all those trekking stuffs. Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 3 : Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m), Trek to Phakding (2,652m)
    Breakfast in The early morning, you will be escorted to the domestic terminal for connecting flight to Lukla. From Lukla trek will be begin. After an adventurous 40 minute flight above the breathtaking green and white mountains, you will be at Tenzing-Hillary Airport at Lukla. This is one of the most beautiful air routes in the world culminating in a dramatic landing on a hillside surrounded by high mountains peaks. You will start trek from Lukla to Phading with new crew members will be introduced in Lukla for your help. However, if interested in additional activities we can take a side trip to a nearby monastery. Overnight in Phakding at Hotel.
  • Day 4 : Trek from Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3440 m)
    After having breakfast trek starts. Trek gradually goes through the pleasant view of short uphill and downhill with several crossing over Dudh Koshi River and magnificent view of Mt. Thamserku (6,608m/21,675ft) from Benkar village. After crossing several bridges you will be at Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, where trekking permits are checked in order to keep record of trekkers and local trekking staffs as well. Literally trek goes for final destination for this day, Namche Bazzar. The walk is enjoyable through the river bed and we reach Hillary Suspension Bridge. Now, as we climb up hill towards Namche Bazzar, closer and magnificent sight of Kwangde Peak, its sister peaks, Kusum Kangaru, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Tawache, and many other fabulous mountains will be viewed closely. We stop at Chautara to admire the view. Finally, we reach the colorful village of Namche Bazzar, the main gateway of Khumbu Region. Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 5 : Acclimatization Day - Namche Bazaar
    This is a mandatory acclimatization day that allows your body to adjust to the effects of altitude. Instead of staying in the lodge, we recommend you to walk which allows the body to adjust to the ratified air more quickly. Today you’ll explore the Museum, visit Khumjung and Khongde village where you can enjoy the views of Mt. Everest and surroundings peaks. You can also visit Thame which is an old Sherpa village as an option. For the remainder of the day you can explore Namche Bazzar where you can use Internet, visit National Park head office, Museum and monastery or enjoy a coffee and visit the bakery as per your interest and time. Stay overnight at Namche. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
  • Day 6 : Trek from Namche Bazzar to Thame (3800m)
    After breakfast at Namche, the trail leads to the old village called Thamo which is an easy walk through the valley. On the left we have the Kongde Ri (6187 m) and the river that flows down into a ravine. On the right is the rocky Khumbi Yul La (5765 m) and behind us is clearly visible on Kusum Kanguru (6,373 m). After an hour walking mostly downhill into the forest, the trip continues. At this juncture, the steep rise up about 50m in altitude to reach a ridge around it. The river bed becomes closer and wider. We reach the village of Phorte and then the small town of Samde along the stretch halfway up a slight slope leading to the bridge over the Bhote Koshi (3650 m). Cross it and about a half hour climb brings us to Thame.
  • Day 7 : Trek from Thame to Marulung (4210m)
    The beautiful peaks, the village to the west can be seen if the sky is clear. After breakfast trek will lead us for Marlung, where you will rest at night. View of alpine zone, less vegetation area, village of Tangmote and Yellajung can be explored on the way. You pass by the Tarngga village enjoying superb views of Kongde Ri as we look down the trail. A further 45 minutes or so on a gradually rising trail brings us to Marlung.
  • Day 8 : Trek from Marlung to Lungden (4380m)
    After breakfast, an easy and short walk to Marlung through the Bhote Koshi River where you will be at Lungden. You will walk for about an hour and then climb a small rasing hill. Upon crossing the water stream you trek 2 to 3 hours to reach Lungdeng.
  • Day 9 : Trek from Lungden to Renjopass (5360m)-Gokyo (4800 m)
    Hike goes this morning to the top of Renjo La, you get fabulous views of surrounding. The Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse and Taboche can be seen. You will also see Gokyo lake which has breathtaking views. From the top of the Renjo La the trail drops down to the Third Lake (Gokya lake) and then it’s a short walkto the lodge. After time to rest at the lodge, it’s a short climb to the ridge from where you will explore the Ngozumpa glacier which is amazing looking with its small glacier lakes. Overnight at Gokyo.
  • Day 10 : Trek from Gokyo valley and Hike to Gokyo Ri (5357 m)
    Acclimatizing at Gokyo and explore the 5th lake passing another fourth lake. The weather is good, we grasp the opportunity to climb Gokyo Ri today instead of next day to enjoy the scene from the best viewpoint of Everest Region. Moreover, Gokyo is not only popular for its grand view from Gokyo Peak but also for the six lakes which it hosts. Definitely we would not miss the chance to observe the fourth (Thonak Tsho) and fifth lakes (Ngozuma Tsho). If interested, we climb on a hill at the edge of the Lakes to get astounding views of Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makulu. Hiking up to Gokyo Ri rewards breathtaking views of sunrise over the Himalayas. Upon exploring the Gokyo Ri area, we get back to the camp for rest. We enjoy the feeling of being surrounded by panoramic mountains like Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, K 43, Kangtega, Taboche, Cholatse, Makalu, Lhotse, Nuptse, Everest, Changtse, and Pumori.
  • Day 11 : Trek from Gokyo to Thaknak (4750 m)
    This is an easy day but we suggest you to start early because you will have to walk through the Ngozumpa glacier which is the longest glacier in Nepal. While crossing this glacier you will hear many sounds of rocks falling into the small glacier lake. There are many rocks on the way which have ice underneath. During the sunny day ice melts pretty fast so we should cross this glacier before the sun gets strong. Continuing further and traversing along the edge of that mountain, we descend down to Thaknak. On the trek, we enjoy the magnifiscent views of Cho Oyu, Gokyo Ri, and other high.
  • Day 12 : Trek from Thaknak-Cho to La-Dzongla (4830m)
    Trek to Cho La Pass, another attraction of this trip. One of the toughest trail you are going to pass, totally pass is not itself difficult but it is steep and ivloves a glacier traverse on the eastern side. You need to be careful as the trail is vertical and the rocks glazed by ice add trouble to the trekkers making the trail slippery. Continously you climb up from Phedi. You walk via a side of Frozen Lake while you come to the top pass decorated with prayer flags. During way to Dzongha need to cross several craves, but also an mysterious view of Mt. Cholatse, Mt Ama Dablam, Lobuche Peak and the Pheriche Village far below.
  • Day 13 : Trek from Dzongla to Lobuche (4940 m)
    After breakfast heading off to Lobuche. You will cimb up from Dzongla.Today, we head for Lobuche. Crossing a bridge, you transverse through grassy trail. Enjoying the view of Lobuche Peak we stretch up eventually through a ridge. The mountains of Ama Dablam, Kangtega, Thamserku Taboche are seen looming prominently. walk of 5-6 hrs you will be at Lobuche.
  • Day 14 : Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5170 m) - Everest Base Camp (5364 m) - Gorak Shep
    The trail goes to Gorak Shep from Lobuche through the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. Ahead on the trail you see crest of north ridge of Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, etc. As you reach Gorak Shep, you will find snow-capped mountains looming all around you including the top of the world - Mt. Everest. After lunch and rest, Trail will lead you to Everest Base Camp through the once vast Gorak Shep Lake. Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori are the mountains we can view from the base camp. Everest actually is not visible from here. By now we have met the ultimate objective of our trip.
  • Day 15 : Trek from Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5545 m/18,192 ft) back to Lobuche (4940 m/16,207 ft) 7 - 8hrs
    Early in the morning start trek to ctach the dramatic views from Kala Patthar and first sunrise of day on Mt.Everest. You need to get prepared for an early morning, dark and cold temperature, potential of chilly winds. Familiar peaks such as Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse tower to the east even as Everest begins to reveal itself emerging between the west shoulder crest and Nuptse. During the ascent to Kala Patthar we can pause to catch our breath at several outstanding view points to snap pictures. Ovrenight at Lobuche.
  • Day 16 : Trek from Lobuche to Kongma La (5,535m) finally at Chhukung (4,730m)
    From Lobuche, this day you will pass through Khumbu Glacier. Climbing up we reach Kongma La. There is a Pyramid shaped Italian Research Centre at just over 5,000m. View of basin dotted with frozen lakes, amazing view of Cholaste, Pokalde, Nuptse, Lhotse,Makalu and Ama Dablam can be seen. Finally overnight you will be at Chhukung.
  • Day 17 : Trek from Chhukung to Tengboche (3860 m)
    Starting point of IslandPeak is also Chhukung. Now we are getting closer to the Himalayan civilization of the Khumbu Region. Famous Monestary at pangboche velieved as an old in Khumbu region. Trail descend down the alpine desert and back into grrenery of pine forests. Trail leads to a step uphill climb into Tengboche.
  • Day 18 : Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazzar
    After a view from Tenboche trail leads us to DudhKoshi River. Wildlife and scenic natural views are amazing in this part of treks. Crossing a Chorten, you will be at Namche Bazar. Overnight at Namche Bazar.
  • Day 19 : Trek from Namche Bazzar to Lukla
    The trek descends steeply downward so you need to walk slowly and under control as our shaky legs continuously battle the rocky terrain. Up and down hill and snap a mixture of pen plains, rhododendron, pine forest, snow covered peaks is amazing. Trail goes on through Sherpa village where Buddhism influences can be seen wider by prayer flags. Arriving in Lukla, just collecting memory of treks. Overnight will be final night at Khumbu Region.
  • Day 20 : Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (40 min flight)
    We will fly direct to Kathmandu. If weather is terrible we have to stay this day and wait for next days. After arriving Kathmandu, you will have a free day to do shopping around market or you can rest whole day. It’s up to you how you want to pass the day. But if you wish to visit around and need our assistance we are always ready for it. At the evening, we are going to make this tour remarkable by knowing your experience about Nepal and dinner together at our own restaurant. Overnight stay at Hotel.
  • Day 21 : Final Departure
    Today, according to your flight schedule our representative will be at International airport for see off.
