Among the most popular destinations leading to Everest Base Camp and beyond, the Gokyo Valley is the location of the Gokyo Lake system of 19 lakes. At an altitude of between 4,600 m and 5,100 m, they are the world’s highest freshwater lake system. Gokyo Valley Trek provides the real heavenly experience on the earth visiting the entire high valley of Khumbu region. You will get an opportunity to observe the stunning scenery of Mt. Everest, Makalu and Cho Oyo (8021m) Mt Everest 8848 m and much more other surrounding peaks. The beauties of these lakes have to be seen to be believed. Visit the Gokyo village located on the eastern shores of the main lake Gokyo Cho. Climb the nearby vantage point of Gokyo Ri (5,357 m) to view the system in all its glory or gaze on the Ngozumpa glacier – the largest in Nepal and said to possibly be the largest in the Himalayan range. These lakes are considered sacred by both Hindus and Buddhists, and are the pilgrimage site during the Hindu festival of Jania Purnima (usually during the month of August).

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival at Kathmandu Airport
    Our representative will greet you at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. When you have had your time to settle in and freshen up after your long fight. After some refreshment you will invited for a visit in our office. At evening we will offer you for welcome dinner at our own Restaurant. Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 2 : A full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu
    The very next morning, after breakfast you will be taken for a full day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. You can visit center of pilgrimage Pashupatinath Temple and Swyambhunath, Boudhanath and Kathmandu Durbar Square a World Heritage sites. On journey back to hotel, you can explore the local areas, gullies and lifestyle. After your dinner, you can perhaps take leisurely stroll through the famous streets like Thamel and Durbarmarg.   • Day 3 : Flight to Lukla and trekking to Phakding (2652m)
    In the Early morning we flight from Kathmandu to Lukla via mountain flight of about 40 minute’s scenic flight. With clear weather we get fantastic views of the mountains, including Everest as we enter deep gorge of the Dudh Kosi valley. After Breakfast in Lukla we begin our trek from Lukla following a gentle climb up the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi River. where you witness the typical Nepal terrace culture, slate roofed houses and views on Kusum Kangaru (5 579 m). We then take an easy walk for about two hours to Phakding village for the overnight stop at Lodge.
  • Day 4 : Phakding trekking to Namche Bazzar (3440m)5-6hr
    From Phakding the trail follows the Dudh Koshi valley north, meandering through the pines, crossing it twice by small suspension bridges before reaching the village of Monjo the entrance gate of the Sagarmatha National Park. Beginning with a slight climb to Jhorsalle, the trail passes waterfalls and other culturally and naturally occurring items of interest. Villages are interspersed with magnificent forests of Rhododendron, Magnolia and fir. Along the way to you will be rewarded with your first glimpse of Kusum Kangru (6369m) Thamserku (6608m), Everest (8848m) and Nuptse (7879 m). A steep climb up to the beautiful village of Namche bazaar (3440m) will afford you further spectacular views and a comfortable place to spend the second night of the trek.
  • Day 5 : Acclimatization day in Namche
    Rest day at Namche. Optional walk to the Sherwi Khangba Sherpa Culture Museum or dayhike to the Hotel Everest View in Khumjung village (3 700 m) and Khundi Hospital in Khundi Village, the first hospital build in Khumbu Region by Sir Edmund Hillary and Himalayan Trust in 1966. Overnight at lodge.
  • Day 6 : Trek from Namche to Phroste Thanga
    From Namche bazaar trail climbs steeply out of valley through Rhododendron forest, Jupiter and large conifers start to appear as the elevation increases making the trekking very pristine in spring. We head passing Yak Kharkas and capturing the most fantastic scenic beauty of khumbi La and Tawache. Overnight at guesthouse.
  • Day 7 : Trek from Phroste Thanga to Machherma (4,470m) - 5 hrs
    Today, our trail goes continue down the valley to Kengtega and up towards Cho Oyu and descends to a river and again climbs steep to the Ngozumpz Glacier. After reaching machherma by early noon it’s time for exploration. Overnight at guesthouse.
  • Day 8 : Trek from Machherma to Gokyo
    Today, we are heading for our destination to reach gokyo. Gokyo Village stands by the DudhPokhari and Cho-Oyu Mountain. Above the lake provides amazing views of Cho-Oyu, Gyachung, Kang, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholats and Twache. Overnight at guesthouse.
  • Day 9 : Trek from Gokyo to Gokyo Ri and back to Gokyo Ri.
    Acclimating at Gokyo and explore the 5th lake passing another fourth lake. The weather is good; we grasp the opportunity to climb Gokyo Ri today instead of next day to enjoy the scene from the best viewpoint of Everest Region. Moreover, Gokyo is not only popular for its grand view from Gokyo Peak but also for the six lakes which it hosts. Definitely we would not miss the chance to observe the fourth (Thonak Tsho) and fifth lakes (Ngozuma Tsho). If interested, we climb on a hill at the edge of the Lakes to get astounding views of Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makulu. Hiking up to Gokyo Ri rewards breathtaking views of sunrise over the Himalayas. Upon exploring the Gokyo Ri area, we get back to the camp for rest. We enjoy the feeling of being surrounded by panoramic mountains like Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, K 43, Kangtega, Taboche, Cholatse, Makalu, Lhotse, Nuptse, Everest, Changtse, and Pumori. Overnight at guesthouse.
  • Day 10 : Trek from Gokyo to Dole (4090m)
    Gokyo is a trade center where the Sherpa people run lodges to provide the best services to the trekkers. Gokyo is situated by the side of Ngozumba glacier, the biggest glacier of Nepal. Spend a day in Gokyo strolling around the lakes and hiking up to some of the mountain viewpoints nearby. After a short trek from the top we will have a magnificent view of highest peaks, from the west to east are Cho you (8,153m), Gyachung Kang (7,922m), Everest ( 8848m), Lhotse (8,501m) and further way Makalu. At afternoon trek down to Dole. Overnight at guesthouse.
  • Day 11 : Trek from Dole to Namche Bazzar
    We pass through the forest covered with rhododendron, pine and local incense. We arrive in Phortse Thanga and crossing the river over a suspension bridge. We ascend up a sandy slope to the Dudh Kosi River. The route ascends to the valley of Dudh Koshi and down to Khumjung. Finally we reach the Namche valley. Overnight at guesthouse.
  • Day 12 : Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla
    Today we are leaving Namche Bazzar and heading towards for Lukla. We continue our journey through the forest covered with rhododendron, pine and local incense. After reaching in Phakding we stop for lunch and trail goes down for lukla. It’s an easiest trail to back down from Lukla. On the way Lush green scenery refresh your trek tiredness. We will see incredible Mountain View and local sherpa village. We want you to enjoy and collect some wonderful memory from Everest Region because this is last night. Overnight at guesthouse.
  • Day 13 : Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
    We will fly direct to Kathmandu. If weather is terrible we have to stay this day and wait for next days. After arriving Kathmandu, you will have a free day to do shopping around market or you can rest whole day. It’s up to you how you want to pass the day. But if you wish to visit around and need our assistance we are always ready for it. At the evening, we are going to make this tour remarkable by knowing your experience about Nepal and dinner together at our own restaurant. Overnight stay at Hotel.
  • Day 14 : Final Departure
    Our representative will Drop you at International airport Kathmandu for your next destination.
