Helambu Circuit Trek

Langtang Helambu Circuit trek is a trip with a complete combination of nature, culture and religion which covers all the three different parts of Langtang National Park and they are Langtang valley, Gosainkunda Lake and the Helambu area. Covering sub-tropical to alpine climate zones, Langtang National Park inhabits various species of birds so that Langtang Helambu area is known as a bird’s paradise of the Himalayan region of Nepal. Awe-inspiring Himalayan panorama of various places, diversity of wildlife and flora and fauna is the other highlights of this trekking route. Langtang Valley is also known as valley of Glacier, Here the mountain-scape is spectacular. On the other side of valley, mountains rise, soaring into the sky. The valley offers pine forest, slow moving rivers and swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, grassy downs and meadows strewn with daisies and wild primulas.
Starting with a short drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, Gul Bhanjyang, Mongenghot, Melemchi Gaun, Tarkya Ghyang, Sermathang and Melemechi Pul to Kathmandu by 5hrs drive.

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu Airport
    Your arrival in Kathmandu our representative will assist you at the airport & transfer to Hotel by 30 mins driving. After Relaxing for a few hours, our guide will take you for a short walk around old town. Evening briefing about Trekking and welcome dinner together at our own Restaurant.
  • Day 2 : Kathmandu Sightseeing
    After breakfast at Hotel start to visit Kathmandu Swayambhunath(monkey temple), and Boudhanath and PashuPati Nath Temple afternoon meeting with guide check the trekking gears. O/n Hotel in Kathmandu
  • Day 3 : Drive to Sundarijal & Trek to Chisapani (1905m)
    After 1 hour of drive from Kathmandu we will reach at Sundarijal. Sundarijal is also one of the holiest place for many Hindus and non Hindus. One can explore the Watershed and wildlife Reserve in the area. We walk through the water pipe line from where Kathmandu valley people get water for drink. We continue our walk by viewing rare local village and natural scenic view. From Chisapani (2300meters) the mountains can be visible from our open eyes.
  • Day 4 : Trek to Gul Bhajyang (2130m) 6 hrs. Lodge
    After having tea and breakfast we will continue our journey to the next point to Gul Bhajyang. From Chisapani Trail leads down to Pati Bhanjyang. A lovely small village with natural beauties. The trail heads north out of Pathi Bhanjyang (1770m), the Brahman and Chhettri village and a gentle ascent to a small white chorten at the Sherpa village of Thakuni Bhanjyang. Make a very steep ascent on switch back to Chipling and 200m climb on a stone staircase to the top of the Jhogin Danda ridge (2470m). You’ll have good views of the peaks as you drop down through rhododendron forest on the far side of the pass. Continuing along the forested ridge, the trail descends to a large chorten overlooking the Tamang village of Gul Bhanjyang.
  • Day 5 : Trek to Tharepati (3597m) 6 hrs. Lodge
    The trail climbs the ridge from Gul Bhanjyang to another pass at 2620m. The trail steadily climbs through prickly leaved oak forest with excellent views of the mountains and the Helambu valley. The trail descends to Magen Goth and continues to climb, steeply at first, and then more gradually, the trail makes some ups and downs passing through forests, across flower-strewn meadows and crossing streams. A steep path rises above the village to a fluttering white prayer flag on a mind swept hilltop, offering a perfect panorama of the Langtang Himalaya. We arrived at Tharepati Rise early for excellent close up views of Gosaikunda and surrounding high mountains.
  • Day 6 : Trek to Melemchi Gaun (2560m) 6 hrs. Lodge
    Heading east from Tharepati, the trail drops rapidly down the ridge. The path passes pine and rhododendron forest rich with bird life along with good views down into the Helambu valley. The ridge gives you a marvelous mountain view of the Jugal Himal and Numbur in the Solu Khumbu. Melamchi Gaon is surrounded by beautiful forests, which is mainly inhabited by Sherpa people with their unique culture and spectacular Buddhist monasteries.
  • Day 7 : Trek to TarkyaGhyang (2590m) 5-6hrs. Lodge
    From the Gompa in Melamchi Gaon, the trail drops rapidly into the forest, passing a series of large chortens, a reminder of the strong Buddhist influence in the village. The trek descends steeply to the valley floor, where you can have a well earned dip in the crystal- clear stream named as Melamchi. Then the trail goes gently up to beautiful Sherpa village Tarkeghyang (ghyang means monastery) passing through Sherpa old settlements and biggest monasteries. This place make you a remember of Dolpo and Mustang which are worth viewing. Tarkeghyang boasts an 18th century Gompa with huge brass prayer wheel.
  • Day 8 : Trek to Sermathang ( 2590m) 5 hrs. Lodge
    This trail is quite easy with flat land and beautiful forest. The trail leads us cross small forest with the view of beautiful village of Helambu region. The trail makes a sweep around the wide valley end between Parachin and Sherpa village of Gangyul of Khumbu region. During our walk Jugal, Ganesh, Langtang Himalayan range can bee observed even Mt Everest can be visible if climate is in our favor.
  • Day 9 : Trek to Melemchi Pul Bazar (890m) 4hrs. Lodge
    This day we will just walk through the small town and beside of cultivated fields. With the spectacular Mountain View, you will get to interact with local and friendly people. From here take a drive of around 3-4 hrs to the Kathmandu valley. Enjoy the panoramic views all the way, enjoying the cool air and forested road. Drive back to Kathmandu. Together dinner and talk about experience. Overnight at Kathmandu Hotel.
  • Day 10 : Departure
    Drop you to your next destination at International Airport.
