Jomolhari Trek

One of the most famous Jomolhari trekking trail is well known as the spectacular view of Mount Jomolhari, lies in the eastern Himalayas in Bhutan. Jomolhari is still untouched mountain in the world from its base camp. During this trek passes through a small part of the Kigme Singye National park. It provides the opportunity to see a great variety of Flora and Fauna including rare herbs and shrubs. The trail offers a taste of the great variety of Bhutanese landscapes, majestic view of Mount Jomolhari and the oldest monasteries and exploring the beautiful Paro valley a rich in culture, scenic beauty and hundreds of myths and legends.

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival at Paro Airport
    Arrive at Paro airport, our representative will greet you, You will transfer to Hotel. Day time Visit Ta Dzong, one of the finest natural Museum in South Asia. Visit Rinpung Dzong which is in the same location as Ta Dzong- built in 1645 to defend the valley against Tibetan invaders. In the evening, walking around the city. Overnight at Paro.
  • Day 2 : Excursion at Paro
    After breakfast, you visit the Taktsang Monastery a highlight of the trip. The visit requires a short walk. After lunch, make an afternoon sightseeing off- sights visited You will have a day sightseeing around Paro, sights visited Ta Dzong, Paro Rimpung Dzong, Kichu Lhakhang and Drukgyal Dzong. Overnight at Paro.
  • Day 3 : Paro - Shana (2850m) 5-6hrs
    This day we begin our treks after arriving Drukgyal Dzong. Passing through the beautiful meadows, paddy fields and impressive farm houses along the way of Shana. Stay overnight at tented camp.
  • Day 4 : Shana – Thangthangka (3610m) 7-8hrs
    Today, our trail continues with small ups and downs through the river valley and we enter Jigme Dorji national Park. As we pass the junction en-route, another path leads north over the Termo La to Tibet. Overnight at tented camp.
  • Day 5 : Thangthangka - Jangothang (4080m) 5-6hrs
    Today, after crossing an Army outpost along the way, the trail enters a spectacular view of mountain ridges and picturesque snow capped peaks. After arriving at the Jomolhari we install camp. Overnight at tented camp.
  • Day 6 : Jangothang Sightseeing
    Today, we do more exploration around Jangothang hiking up to glacier for 4 and half hours and back to last night camp. Overnight at tented camp.
  • Day 7 : Jangothang – Lingshi (4010m) 6-7hrs
    The trail goes through the stream and start to climb to the ridge with a majestic view Jomolhari. Slowly we down to the Phajoding Monastery. Again climbing up to the Nyeley La Pass at 4700m and descend to the Lingshi camp. Overnight at tented camp.
  • Day 8 : Lingshi – Shodu (4080m) 8-9hrs
    Continuing trail and climb up to the Yalila Pass at 4930m to view the stunning Mt. Jomolhari, Tserin Kang and Masafang. Overnight at tented camp.
  • Day 9 : Shodu – Barshong (3710m) 5-6hrs
    After Shodu we lead further trail to meet Barshong and following the Thimpu River. Descend through the Rhododendrons forests with stunning view of waterfalls finally at Barshong. The path follows the Thimphu river. Overnight at tented camp.
  • Day 10 : Barshong - Dodena – Thimphu(3320m) 4-6hrs
    Today, we gradually descend through the dense Rhododendrons, conifers, maples and the bamboos down to Thimpu River. After arriving Dodena we drive back to Thimpu. Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 11 : Thimphu To Paro
    We do half sightseeing at Thimpu and drive back to Paro. This day we visit the National Memorial Chorten, Folk Heritage Museum, Tashichho Dzong, School of Traditional Painting of Arts & Crafts and back to Paro. Stay overnight at Paro.
  • Day 12 : Departure for your next Destination
    Our company representative will drop you in the airport at Paro for your next destination.
