Lobuche Peak Climbing

Lobuche East Peak is one the popular trekking peak, located in the Everest Khumbu Region at the elevation of 6119meters. Lobuche peak is a perfect summit and provides magnificent panoramic views of Mt. Everest, will able to see many mountains on the Rongbuk side of the Tibet, even those which are not visible from Island Peak. Our special designed itinerary leads us to the Everest base camp and Kalapathar then to Lobuche Peak, this will provide enough opportunity to get acclimatized in high altitude.
Starting from Lukla (2,860 m) we trek along the Dudh Koshi river valley to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m), where you can mingle with the locals and learn about Sherpa culture. Then it’s on to Kala Pathar (5,545 m) and the Everest Base Camp (5,364 m), our destination. Get an up close to Mt. Everest (Sagarmatha in Nepali and Chomolongma in Tibetan) and Khumbu Icefall. Once we return to Lobuche village from Everest base camp, then we trek up to the Lobuche peak base camp. The base camp will be set up at 4,950meters. Near a lake in a rocky hollow at the base of the glaciated South-West Face. We climb steep stone terraces and snow slopes just below the main glaciers on the South-West Face of Lobuche East. This enables trekkers to experience many traditional aspects of culture and local people. The trail passes through numerous villages of different ethnic groups, including Tamang, Jirel, Rai, Brahmin, Chettri and of course the Sherpa’s. Walking along this trek involves many ups and down hills with the trail being well serviced with tea houses and good campsites in most of the villages.

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival at Kathmandu Airport
    Our representative will greet you at Kathmandu (Tribhuvan International Airport) and transfer to your pre-reserved hotel. When you have had your time to settle in and freshen up after your long flight. After some refreshment you will invited for a visit to our office. At evening we will offer you for a welcome dinner at our own Restaurant.
  • Day 2 : A full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu
    The very next morning, after breakfast you will be taken for a full day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. You can visit center of pilgrimage Pashupatinath Temple and Swyambhunath, Boudhanath and Kathmandu Durbar Square a World Heritage sites. This day we finalize further procedure about due amounts and all documents for issuing permit. Also you will meet guide and provide all the information and details about your trek. On journey back to hotel, you can explore the local areas, gullies and lifestyle. After your dinner, you can perhaps take leisurely stroll through the famous streets like Thamel and Durbarmarg.
  • Day 3 : Flight to Lukla and trekking to Phakding (2652m)
    In the Early morning we flight from Kathmandu to Lukla via a mountain flight of about 40 minute’s scenic flight. With clear weather we get fantastic views of the mountains, including Everest as we enter the deep gorge of the Dudh Kosi valley. After Breakfast in Lukla we begin our trek from Lukla following a gentle climb up the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi River, where you witness the typical Nepal terrace culture, slate roofed houses and views on Kusum Kangaru (5 579 m). We then take an easy walk for about two hours to Phakding village for the Overnight stop at the Lodge.
  • Day 4 : Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m) 5-6hr
    From Phakding the trail follows the Dudh Koshi valley north, meandering through the pines, crossing it twice by small suspension bridges before reaching the village of Monjo the entrance gate of the Sagarmatha National Park. Beginning with a slight climb to Jhorsalle, the trail passes waterfalls and other culturally and naturally occurring items of interest. Villages are interspersed with magnificent forests of Rhododendron, Magnolia and fir. Along the way to you will be rewarded with your first glimpse of Kusum Kangru (6369m) Thamserku (6608m), Everest (8848m) and Nuptse (7879 m). A steep climb up to the beautiful village of Namche bazaar (3440m) will afford you further spectacular views and a comfortable place to spend the second night of the trek.
  • Day 5 : Acclimatization day in Namche
    Rest day in Namche. Optional walk to the Sherwi Khangba Sherpa Culture Museum or dayhike to the Hotel Everest View in Khumjung village (3 700 m) and Khundi Hospital in Khundi Village, the first hospital build in the Khumbu Region by Sir Edmund Hillary and Himalayan Trust in 1966. Overnight stay at the lodge in Namche Bazaar.
  • Day 6 : Trek to Tengboche (3867m) 5-6hr
    Next morning after breakfast we continue our trek with a pleasant walk through the forest with a magnificent view of mountains. We follow a spectacular path that traverses around the hillside high above the Dudh Kosi River. The trail climbs past some water-powered prayer wheels and begins a sustained climb through a forest of tall, mature rhododendrons. The start of the Tengboche (3870m), the village is scattered across a wide, grassy saddle below a crescent-shaped ridge covered by scrub pines and firs. From the viewpoint at the top of the hill, there are awe-inspiring views of distinctive peaks like Amadablam (6856m), standing proud of the massif containing Everest (8848m), Nuptse (7861m), Lhotse (8501m) and inspiring views of Himalayan giants. We visit the Buddhist Monastery at Tengboche, the largest in Khumbu region. Overnight at Lodge
  • Day 7 : Trek to Dingboche (4360m) 5-6hr
    In the morning views of mountain and monasteries are spectacular in Tengboche. From Tengboche we start our journey toward the north and soon cross the Dudh Kosi river by way of a small suspension bridge which spans a deep chasm in the river valley. During the way of Dingboche The trail makes a gradual descent through scrub junipers and around Mani stones as it follows the hillside. The trail passes many Mani walls in deep rhododendron forests where crossing after the Imja khola, the trail climbs many carved Mani stones to Pangboche. Pangboche Gompa is the oldest in Khumbu; a visit will be well worth it. Overnight stay at Lodge.
  • Day 8 : Day trip to Chhukung Valley.
    Acclimatization day at Dinboche but for warm up this day we trek to Chhukung Valley. It is located unshakably beneath a huge rock wall that joins Nuptse with Lhotse. From here, we will also see magnificent views of Amadablam (6856 m.), almost surely, the most pictured peak in Nepal. Then we return back to Dingboche. Overnight at guest house.
  • Day 9 : Trek to Lobuche
    Today, we can view the stunning Beautiful Himalayan Ranges which include, Makalu, Everest and many others along the way. The trail continues along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and passes by stone memorials for climbers who have perished on nearby summits. A downward path to Pheriche village. It joins the trail below Thungla beautiful views of Cholatse across the valley. After another steep ascend the trail climbs up and over the terminal moraine of khumbu glacier. Tawoche and Nuptse are particularly spectacular from Lobuche towering. Overnight at guest house.
  • Day 10 : Trek to Everest base Camp and return to Goarkshep
    This is one of the difficult and challenging day, we need to walk for 7-8hrs. Early in the morning we leave Lobuche and walk Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 5365 meters, the closest you can get to Mt. Everest without having mountaineering equipment. We explore base camp and its surroundings glacier and return back to Gorakshep. Overnight at Guest House.
  • Day 11 : Trek to Kalapatthar and Return back to Lobuche
    Early in the morning Hike up to Kala Patthar. Kala Patthar provides the most wonderful sight of sunrise over Mt. Everest and other Himalayan peaks such as Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Pumori. You would not want to miss that. It will take a couple of hours to reach Kala Patthar from Gorak Shep. After viewing around Kala Patthar we are heading down to Goarak Shep and then to Lobouce. Overnight at lodge.
  • Day 12 : Trek to Lobuche East Base Camp
    Today, we begin our trek early towards the Lobuche Base camp. The first half of the journey is over flat terrain, but the second half of the path begins a steep ascent to the Lobuche Base camp. The path is quite rocky and it moves along the bank of Lobouche Glacier. While trekking, you can enjoy the spectacular views of Ama Dablam, Pokalde, Thamserku, Kantega, and many more. We install camp for the next two days for accommodations. Overnight at tented camp.
  • Day 13 : Trek from summit to Lobouche east peak and return to base camp
    Today is the main day, early in the morning we will start climb up Lobuche Peak (6119m). The climb takes tentative 10 hours to reach the summit of Peak. At the summit we will behold panoramic views of Everest, Lhitse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Pumire and many more, including mountains of the Rongbuk (Tibetan Peak). After a trip to the top, we down our way to the Base Camp. Overnight at tented camp.
  • Day 14 : Spare day in case of bad weather
    This is spare day just in case of unfavorable weather and we can’t guarantee of it. We will take a good rest on the way down, if we have successful climb on day 13. Overnight at guesthouse.
  • Day 15 : Trek to Pangboche
    After breakfast, we trek downhill from Lobuche Base Camp and joining the Everest base Camp route at Lobuche again. We follow our trail until reaching Pangboce. We visit the most famous Panboche Monastery along the way. Overnight at guesthouse.
  • Day 16 : Trek to Namche
    Today, we descend gradually to Namche, leaving the mountains behind. After reaching Namche at afternoon, we are free to explore Namche Bazaar one of the famous place in Khumbu region. Overnight at guest house.
  • Day 17 : Trek to Lukla
    The track descends steeply downward so you need to walk slowly and under control as our shaky legs continuously battle the rocky terrain. Up and down the hill and snap a mixture of pine plains, rhododendron, pine forest, snow covered peaks are amazing. The trail goes on through the Sherpa village where Buddhismuddhisim influences can be seen wider by prayer flags. Arriving in Lukla, just collecting memory of treks. Overnight will be a final night in Khumbu Region.
  • Day 18 : Lukla to Kathmandu: 40 min flight
    We fly back to Kathmandu after our adventurous trek. The early morning flight drops us in Kathmandu. After relaxing couple of hours we provide a private guide for sightseeing around the valley as your interest. After late noon you were free for shopping around the local market. At Evening time inviting you for dinner in our Restaurant. Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 19 : Final Departure
    Our representative will Drop you at International airport Kathmandu for your next destination.
