Lower Dolpo Trek

Dolpo lies in the western part of a Nepal. It is relatively a rural region, which makes the destination particularly exclusive. The Lower Dolpo Trekking route was opened seemingly late than other trekking routes in Nepal. It was in 1982 that it was opened. It is known to fulfill the quench of adventure in trekking enthusiast looking to reach a tranquil destination, adventure. For people interested in the ecosystem and wild, untouched beauty of nature in the western highlands of Nepal, this is a trek of a lifetime.
The Lower Dolpo trek is one of the stunning, off-the-beaten and untouched trekking destination. The World deepest lake, the Shey-Phoksundo lake is in enroute. You can witness the turquoise ecstasy along with the ecosystem and the wild beauty of Himalayan Flora and Fauna.
The trekking in Lower Dolpo covers typical and hidden scenic beauty of Nepal than any trekking destinations of Nepal. You can call it a virgin beauty. The culture and the living are untouched of any influence. It’s remote and is isolated and that makes it quintessential. Lower Dolpo is a safe land for local people during winter. To escape the harshness of winter in upper Dolpo, locally migrate to lower Dolpo with their cattle in winter and climb back in the summer.
The trekking trail crosses the three high passes of this region: Kangmara La (5115mtr.), Numa La (5159mtr.) and Baga La (5190 meter). It is home to popular Shey Phoksundo National Park. Our trek leads us through this protected area and takes us to the superb Phoksundo lake. Watch the yak caravans that maintain the traditional salt trade with Tibet. The trek which starts with Juphal and ends in Jumla, is moderately strenuous walk along the lower part of the Dolpo. Since its discovery, the route is very much popular among the trekkers. Beautiful Lakes, People life style, Buddhist Monasteries, Tibetan plateau and the traditional culture are the main attraction of the lower Dolpo trek.
As in every other trek, you will be provided with our best and well experienced guide. As the route covers altitude, it is suggested to consult your doctor before the trip.
